Welcome Students & Parents! I'm Mr. Kumar Kayastha, and I am the Technology Integration Specialist, here at Westchester Primary School (Westchester SD 92.5):

 

I will be posting resources here, as well as a variety of links and pertinent information. Please feel free to come to me with any questions, concerns, or issues you may have. I love to hear, watch, or read your thoughts!

 

I believe it's paramount that as educators, we give our students the tools and guidance necessary to be productive, well-rounded scholars! This is my first year in this district! Here is some background information I'd like to share: I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Rhetoric from the University of Illinois (Urbana/Champaign), my Master of Arts in Secondary Education (Content Area: English Language Arts) with a specialty in Reading Assessment & Instruction from Lewis University, and my Middle School Endorsement from the University of Phoenix. I am currently pursuing my Technology Specialist Endorsement from the University of St. Francis and I am a Google Level I certified Instructor.

 

I employ the use of technology amongst staff and students to promote learning, creativity, and collaborative teaching. I strive to connect with all students to focus on critical thinking and real-world application. By successfully modeling positive behavior and growth mindset, both as a teacher and a student, I believe that our community (in and around Westchester) can be molded into an even more welcoming and innovative educational environment than it already is.
