Home Summer Enrichment

It is very important to keep learning throughout the summer! During the summer, students' skills and knowledge can SLIDE back 2-3 months. That makes an enormous impact on their academic abilities at the beginning of the school year. Common Core standards are very rigorous, and we jump right into learning the first day of school. YOU can help your child be prepared for the first day of school by spending some academic time during the summer.
 
TESTING in the beginning of the school year...
During the first two weeks of school, your child will be assessed in reading and math. They will take the standardized MAP test, as well as other assessments. Based on those assessments, academic decisions will be made to place your child in the correct reading and math "differentiated groups" within their classroom. Students who need more support may be meeting with the reading and math specialists for additional learning time. Your partnership and support will help your child make a SPLASH next year!
