For our Asynchronous Remote Learning day, all students will attend remotely on that day (regardless of whether they were previously attending school in-person/hybrid or remotely). Students will not log on as teachers will provide instruction/assignments via the Google Classroom or Seesaw platform. The goal is to provide meaningful independent activities for students to continue their learning at home. Teachers will be communicating with you via Google Classroom and Seesaw.
The School Citizen of the Year, or SCOTY Award, recognizes students that have been chosen by their schools as “good school citizens and models for others to emulate.” Grades and activities are important considerations but are only a small part of the selection process. Each school is asked to develop its own criteria as a further guideline for selection. The school principal and teachers use those criteria to nominate one student per year to receive the SCOTY Award, which is sponsored by West40, a West suburban non-profit educational service center created by the Illinois Education Reform Act of 1985. Each student received a green band in their packet that was picked up in the office. The office will give out one more replacement if the band is lost. If another band is needed because of misplacement and you need a replacement, the fee will be $0.25. If the band breaks, please send the broken band in, and there will be no charge.
Students will go outside weather permitting. Please be sure your child has on a winter coat, hat and gloves to stay warm while outside.
