Coffee & Cupcakes - Our New ELA Resource Overview and Strategies on Helping You Help Your Child
Please join us as our District Bilingual Teachers and Reading Specialists will be hosting a Coffee and Cupcakes Parent Night to give an overview of our new English Language Arts resource, Into Reading and Into Literature, and how to provide support for your child at home. This event will take place on October 21st at 4:00 p.m. in the Westchester Middle School cafeteria, 1620 Norfolk Ave. Please enter through Door 11.
Cupcakes and Coffee will be provided!

Once school begins, please keep your
students home if they are not feeling well or experiencing any
Covid-like symptoms: fever/chills, cough, shortness of breath/ difficulty
breathing, fatigue, muscle/body aches, headache new loss of taste/smell, sore throat, congestion/ runny nose, nausea/vomiting, or
diarrhea. Please report absences to 708-498-0632. Leave your
student’s name, teacher, and reason for the absence. It is extremely
important that you report if your child is experiencing any
Covid-like symptoms. Also, please leave a number to reach you if
we have questions. Absences not called in are listed as unexcused.
You can also reach the health office by emailing Mrs. Sardinas at
The Health Office must be informed of all medication requirements. If
your student requires medication during the school day, you and your
doctor ust complete the “School Medication Authorization” form.
Medication cannot be dispensed without this form. This form
must also be completed and on file for students with EPI pens or
asthma inhalers. Medications brought to school, including cough
drops or pain relievers, are not to be used without proper forms
and must be kept in the health Office. Children’s medications are
kept locked in the medical closet in the health office.
